The Golden Gate Park Band has been playing free public concerts on Sundays in Golden Gate Park continuously since September of 1882.

Our free Sunday afternoon concert season begins in April and continues most Sundays to our season finale in October. Concerts begin at 1:00 p.m. and last about two hours. This season we will perform on the lawn near the fountain at the San Francisco Botanical Garden at Strybing Arboretum near the park entrance at Ninth Avenue and Lincoln.. Bring a blanket or lawn chair, pack a picnic and enjoy the Band!

Our usual performing venue, The Spreckles Temple of Music at the Music Concourse in Golden Gate Park is closed this season due to construction.

The Band plays a great variety of music that includes classic band favorites, opera, marches, Broadway show tunes, orchestral transcriptions, novelty tunes, folk music, and big band swing. We also feature soloists from within the band and guest artists throughout our season.

This summer we will continue our collaboration with various ethnic and arts groups in San Francisco who bring to the park their colorful costumes, dance groups, singers, and music.

Come and enjoy one of Americas oldest professional concert bands in the magnificent surroundings of Golden Gate Park.
