As we all know, to be successful in music, it helps to know the business behind it. Daniel Wood draws on his experiences as an entrepreneurial musician to help you harness the concepts from David Cutler’s book, “The Savvy Musician.” The interactive workshop will cover business planning, branding/marketing, developing strong people skills, and funding your dreams. Learn how to map out your goals, create opportunities for yourself, build a working team, reach your clients and audience, network with confidence, raise capital for your projects and fully utilize the power of the internet to attract business. Be prepared to outline artistic ideas you personally want to make a reality.

Daniel Wood is an entrepreneurial musician living in the San Francisco Bay Area. Since 2000, he has worked for and mentored large and small arts nonprofits in the areas of management, marketing, development and board governance. As a founding member and executive director of the horn quartet, QUADRE The Voice of Four Horns, he has performed hundreds of concerts throughout the country and released 4 albums. He teaches at the SF Conservatory & the Community School of Music and Arts, his music is available from Solid Wood Publishing, and lectures on the business of music nationally as a “Savvy Musician” advocate. He is thrilled to be returning to the SF Musicians’ Union to present his fifth workshop there.
